Q: Tell us a little bit about your company.
A:
People's Revolution is a full service Public Relations, Branding and Marketing Firm. Our main focus is Fashion & Lifestyle with a strong emphasis on celebrity branding. We have offices in NY & LA and work internationally in markets such as London, Milan & Paris. It seems like our clients use their product as a way to express a feeling or message beyond the product itself.
Q: What's the best thing about working in the fashion industry?
A:
I could answer this in so many ways - My first response in a joking manner is I do not know - I am too busy to remember and too far in! On the other hand I love the fact that fashion is sooo fast. You put a collection up - show it - present it - cast it - make lookbooks - photoshoots - award ceremonies and poof - four months later it is time to do it all again.
Q: How has the fashion industry been affected by the last few "roller coaster" years?
A:
Fashion people are indestructible. We are the strongest, hardest working people in the entertainment industry. I feel everyone is expecting a bigger bang for the buck - the client, the consumer - everyone.
Q: What does a 'typical' workweek look like for you?
A: It starts on Monday and ends on Sunday night.
Q: Can you name a few clients you work with?
A:
Paco Rabanne, Vivienne Westwood
Q: Who do you think looked best at the Academy Awards this year? (Male & female)
A:
Bono (We dressed him in J.Lindeberg!) & Julianne Moore
Q: Who gets the worst dressed award in your opinion? (Male & female)
A:
Sean Connery & Queen Latifah
Q: Do you think working in the fashion/entertainment business is easier than other industries?
A: Absolutely not. It seems really glamorous from the outside looking in. I always say that if I added up the amount of hours I worked and divided it into my salary, I would probably make more money at Burger King.
Q: What's been the highlight and lowlight of your career thus far?
A:
For me working with the great Iconic, truly talented designers like Paco Rabanne & Vivienne Westwood. I enjoy working with people who are eclectic, extraordinarily talented. I do not enjoy working with ordinary people or product. It is boring and impossible to get behind. I think the lowlight of my career was when a hurricane blew out the tents during fashion week - all power supply went and I covered my computer in a garbage bag and hiked 25 blocks in the middle of a hurricane to Staples to try to recover my database.
Q: What top three qualities (or skills) do successful PR people all have in common?
A:
- selflessness
- optimism
- heart & humor
Q: Name three companies you think use PR & Marketing most effectively.
A:
Q: Name a company (or person) you think is in particular need of PR help right now.
A:
Pierre Cardin
Q: What is your dream job?
A:
Being paid one million dollars a year to be a teacher in a village school in South India.
